Restore. Refine. Protect.

Detailing goes far beyond a standard wash. It's a thorough, multi-stage process that cleans, restores and protects your vehicle inside and out, using specialist techniques, professional-grade tools and premium products you won't find at a regular car wash. Every panel, seal and surface is treated individually, so nothing gets rushed and nothing gets missed.
Where a wash removes surface dirt, a full detail goes deeper, decontaminating the paintwork, correcting swirls and light scratches through machine polishing, and locking in that finish with a sealant or ceramic coating. The result isn't just a car that looks clean, it's one that looks and feels genuinely cared for, with paintwork that's protected against everyday wear, UV damage and the elements for months or years to come.
Whether you're maintaining a daily driver, prepping a car for sale, or getting a prestige vehicle ready for a show, our detailing service in Newcastle upon Tyne is built around your vehicle's condition and your goals, not a one-size-fits-all package.

ceramic coating
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied by hand over your paintwork, where it chemically bonds to the surface to form a durable, hydrophobic layer. Unlike a wax or sealant that wears off within weeks, a properly applied ceramic coating locks in the results of your detail and keeps protecting your car for years, not months.
Once cured, the coating creates a slick, glass-like barrier that makes water, dirt and grime bead and slide straight off rather than sitting on the paint, which means less time washing and a car that stays cleaner for longer between visits. It also adds a genuine layer of defence against UV fading, bird droppings, tree sap, road salt and everyday chemical contamination, all of which gradually dull paintwork that isn't protected.
At Wingrove Customs in Newcastle upon Tyne, we offer ceramic coatings across a range of durations; from a one-year option for drivers who like to refresh regularly, up to a five-year coating for those after the highest level of long-term protection. Whichever you choose, it's applied on top of a full detail, so your car goes on to look its best and stay that way for as long as possible.

FAQ
Detailing & ceramic coating
-
A valet is a clean, washing, vacuuming and wiping down surfaces to make the car look tidy. A detail goes much further: it corrects and protects, using techniques like paint correction, decontamination and machine polishing to actually restore and improve the paintwork, not just clean what's already there.
-
Machine polishing can significantly improve and often fully remove light swirls, haze and shallow scratches sitting in the clear coat. Deeper scratches that have gone through the paint or into the primer/metal usually need touch-up paint or a respray rather than correction, but we'll assess your car and give you an honest answer on what's realistically achievable before starting.
-
Most experts recommend a full detail every 4–6 months for daily-driven cars, though this depends on how the car's used and stored. If you're driving in harsh conditions, coastal salt air, gritted winter roads, or lots of motorway miles, more frequent details help protect the paint before damage builds up.
-
It depends on the option you choose we offer 1, 3, 5 and 7 year coatings. The longer options use a more durable formulation designed to hold up to years of washing, weather and UV exposure before it needs reapplying.
-
No; a ceramic coating is a chemical-resistant, hydrophobic layer, not a physical shield. It protects against UV fading, chemical staining and makes dirt easier to wash off, but it won't prevent stone chips or scratches the way paint protection film does. The two can be combined for fuller protection if that's something you're after.
-
If you're planning to keep the car for a while and want it to stay looking freshly detailed with less upkeep, yes it protects your investment in the detail itself and keeps the paint looking glossier for longer. If you're detailing purely for a one-off event or sale, it may not be necessary.
